During the day, the system runs primarily on solar power and at a minimum uses zero watts of power from the utility company. It can mix with normal AC power when there is not enough solar power.
What is a Solar Hybrid Inverter?
While Inverter Air Conditioners are more powerful and use less energy than a fixed speed air conditioner, Superen's new Solar Hybrid Inverter takes this to a new level of efficiency. The world’s first true Solar Hybrid air conditioner allows you to convert the suns energy through Photovoltaic panels into DC power that is feed directly into the DC side compressor. The combination of the Solar Hybrid technology coupled with a variable DC compressor means you and your family can enjoy the benefits of better temperature control, lower noise levels and increased energy efficiency.

Using Superen's DC Power Supply Control Module the Solar Hybrid unit can use DC Solar generated power or mains AC generated power, or a combination of both as required. This means that no matter the weather, you will have uninterrupted comfort.

During the day, the ACDC 3.5kw & ACDC 5.0kw units can get all of its power from solar, resulting in an efficiency above SEER 35 when using four or more 300W solar panels. The unit can be connected with up to 300V/10A solar DC power. The system is designed for hybrid operation with solar providing all of the energy needed during daylight hours. This air conditioner can be connected only by solar panels during the daytime, and to a 240VAC power source at night time.

Hybrid ACDC Solar Air Conditioner System
One reason that a DC Air Conditioner makes the best use of solar power is because there is no loss associated with converting DC power from solar panels into AC power to run a standard air conditioner.
Using standard solar panels which produce native DC power, the 48V DC air conditioners avoid the inefficient addition of an "inverter" that converts solar DC current into AC current.
DC Brushless fan motor
We use 48V DC brushless fan motors for both indoor and outdoor units. DC brushless fan motors can greatly reduce energy consumption, and run with very low noise. Plus, the use of a brushless permanent magnet motor driver provides a variable frequency drive that allows the system to dynamically adjust its capacity based on conditions
We suggest you to connect between 4 to 9 pcs 275W-330W solar panels to drive each solar air conditioner. Both mono-crystalline and poly-crystalline solar panels are suitable.
